About us

Vision

As a digitalisation company, the Center Integrated Business Applications designs innovative and future-oriented solutions for business application systems. It is a neutral platform for business applications providers, consultants and users. With the conception and design of (efficient) applications for an integrated IT system landscape, the Center Integrated Business Applications opens up and secures the future value creation for all companies sustainably involved in the integration process. In this way, the center becomes a crystallisation point for applications along the entire value chain of manufacturing companies.

Mission

As an interface between providers, consultants and users of operational application systems, the Center Integrated Business Applications bundles resources and expertise for further development of products, services and business models for the integrated networking of the IT system landscape in companies. Relevant questions of business applications users are in our consideration focus and are subjects of exchange, research and development.

Strategy

“ImplAiX®”, the Aachen implementation model for business software, constitutes the methodical foundation of all Center Integrated Business Applications activities. Jointly developed by the Center Integrated Business Applications, the FIR at the RWTH Aachen and the Trovarit AG, ImplAiX® offers a practical, process-embracing methodology to support, train and certify providers, system houses and users in their respective requirement spectrum.

Presented as a process model from the perspective of a user company, ImplAiX® covers neutrally and scientifically based, all phases of a software implementation from the analysis of requirements to the acceptance. Thereby the model with the three layers “implementation”, “team management”, “tools and templates” considers all dimensions of a software implementation as well as the interdependencies between these design fields.

With the structured approach of ImplAiX®, the Center Integrated Business Applications creates the prerequisites for a stringent and successful introduction of integrated business software and provides the security to process all related tasks in a target-oriented and efficient way.

Aimed towards an entirely new way of intensive on-site cooperation between research and industry experts, complex value chains are looked at from a new, holistic point of view. To do so, the entirety of internal and external flows of goods and information is examined as well as the exchange of services.
